Reimbursement of Children Education Allowance

It has been informed by the Department of Personnel and Training that the annual ceiling limit for reimbursement of Children Education Allowance (CEA) is Rs. 18,000/- per child. The Hostel subsidy shall be Rs. 4,500/- per month per child. The annual ceiling for reimbursement of CEA for disabled children of Government employees if Rs. 36,000/- per annum per child and the rates of Hostel subsidy for disabled children of Government employees is Rs. 9,000/- per child per month. These revisions are applicable with effect from 1st January, 2014. The reimbursement is admissible for children studying in institutions affiliated to any Board or recognized institution, whether in receipt of Government aid or not, recognized by the Central or State Government or Union Territory Administration or by University or a recognized educational authority having jurisdiction over the area where the institution is situated. No change is proposed to be made in the same.

This information was given by the Union Minister of Finance, Shri Arun Jaitley in written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today (18/7/2014)

Collection of data of   Central Government Staff and Officers

The Directorate General of Human Resource Development has published an order

regarding the 7th Central Pay Commission is collecting data/information of Central

government employees and officers on the following aspects.

The Seventh Central Pay Commission has commenced work and is currently engaged

in the collection of data and relevant material from the department of Revenue as

follows…

1. 7th CPC Questionnaire

2. Statement detailing the allowances payable to officers and staff

3. Data on Personnel-Sanctioned Strength, Number in position, Recruited prior and

after 1.1.2004 and vacancies

4. Age profile of employees (All Groups) :

The total number of personnel in position as on 1.1.2014

Those less than 20 years of age

20 or more but less than 30 years of age

30 or more but less than 40 years of age

40 or more but less than 50 years of age

50 or more but less than 60 years of age

60 or more years of age

3.Autonomous bodies under the Ministry/department (as on 01/01/2014)

Number of Central Autonomous bodies :

No of personnel in Central Autonomous Bodies:

4.Data on Expenditure on salaries & Allowances : From 2010-11to 2012-13

1.Total Plan expenditure

personnel engaged on contractual basis. In this regard the following data is sought:

Man months of deployment at various remuneration levels as given below

a) 10000 and less per month

b) From 10001 to 20000 per month

c) From 20001 to 50000 per month

d) Over 50000 per Month

Expenditure incurred on contract employees

7.Data on Training of Employees

The 7th Central Pay Commission requires immediately the above data/information to

proceed further step on the recommendations of pay commission report.

Post Offices to have a cleanlier and fresher look.

Limits for acceptance of new proposals and settlement of maturity, survival benefit claims by different authorities

1. Postmaster of CPC of Has headed by Sr. Postmaster/ Head Postmaster - upto Rs 5 lakhs of Sum Assured.

2. Director of CPC of New Delhi HOI Kolkata GPO/ Mumbai GPO and Postmaster of CPC of GPOs headed by Chief Postmaster - upto Rs 10 lakhs of Sum Assured.

3. Head of Division - above Rs 5 lakhs of Sum Assured and upto Rs 10 lakhs of Sum Assured.
4. Postmaster General of the Regional Office/ Circle Office - above Rs 10 lakhs of Sum Assured.


Limits for settlement of death claims by different authorities:


1. Postmaster of CPC of Has headed by Sr. Postmaster/ Head Postmaster - up to Rs. 2 lakhs of Sum Assured.

2. Director of CPC of New Delhi HO/ Kolkata GPO/ Mumbai GPO and Postmaster of CPC of GPOs headed by Chief Postmaster - upto Rs 10 lakhs of Sum Assured.

3. Head of Division - above Rs 2 lakhs of Sum Assured and upto Rs 10 lakhs of Sum Assured.
